Second state of the first edition without the embossed golden gun to the front board. Green marbled endpapers. Notable long brown stains mainly to text block edges. Previous owner's name to front endpaper. Minimal foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with crushing to spine ends. Minor tanning to spine, with notable scuffing and soiling across the boards. Small splits (approx. 1cm) to spine ends. Book has a forward lean. Dust jacket corners cut but not price clipped. Moderate wear, with small (approx. 1cm) tears and chips to edges and corners. Notable tanning to spine and edges, with brown staining and soiling to DJ.
