The third edition of this science fiction fantasy novel from American author Edgar Rice Burrough's issued in cheap form, published in the same year as the first UK edition. The second of Burroughs' ten work 'Barsoom' series of novels, set on a fictional representation of the planet Mars and featuring the character of John Carter. Initially serialised in 1913, this work was first published in book form in the US in 1918.With an eight page publisher's catalogue to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, and board extremities. Light marks to fore edge of front board. Front and rear hinges starting, with boards holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages significantly age toned due to paper type, as is common with this edition, but otherwise clean. Good
Synopsis
After the long exile on Earth, John Carter finally returned to his beloved Mars. But beautiful Dejah Thoris, the woman he loved, had vanished. Now he was trapped in the legendary Eden of Mars--an Eden from which none ever escaped alive.
