Bobbs-Merrill, 1931. First Edition . Cloth. Fine/Near Very Good. (1st) Slightly smaller book, fine green cloth with thin embossed border fine, gilt title and author embossed on front very fine, near fine on spine, very light fading near bottom front left and right, ink note and date (1933) on first front end paper. Anecdotes about prominent Americans such as Woodrow Wilson and Calvin Coolidge, Mussolini, Senator Smoot, Dr. Ivan Bratt, Booth Tarkington also. Slight foxing to early end papers including title page. DJ heavy paper, colorfully illustrated with red and black silhouettes of wreathed men and green fish, light brown background, silhouetee of domed building at spine bottom, other books listed on back. DJ has very tiny holes at top front bookfold edge, light wear to front edges, tiny tear and micronick at spine top edge, micronicks and microtears along spine bottom edge, especially left edge with slight wear. Near Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
