New York: Putnam / SFBC, 1963. Book Club Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Book Club edition first printing 1963. A clean square copy. The boards are clean and sharp, with gentle bumping to corners and spine ends. The text block edges have light toning, the top edge printers stain is bold and unmarked. The pages are crisp and clean, no creasing, spots, or tears. Feels very firmly bound and gently read. Book in near fine condition. The clipped jacket (to remove reference to Book Club) has light rubbing to the fore-edges, corners, and spine ends. The rear panel has some non-colour break creasing. There is historical paper strengthing to the flaps and joints to verso. Jacket grades very good, however has no losses and presents well in the archival fitted cover. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. An attractive copy of this classic Heinlein title. An interesting book club edition, that is exactly the same as the first edition except for the lack of price to the jacket. Uncommon title in the UK for a SF collection.
Synopsis
Glory Road is a fantasy novel by Robert A. Heinlein, originally serialized in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (July - September 1963) and published in hardcover later the same year. Heinlein himself reported that the book only took several weeks and was a lot of fun to write; some of his other works, such as Stranger in a Strange Land and The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, required several years and were relatively difficult. Glory Road was nominated for the Hugo Award in 1964.
