On 13 February 1692 the clan Campbell massacred any person under the age of 70 of their hosts, the clan McDonald, at Glencoe. With this one bloody incident the destruction of the Highlanders and the eventual Highland clearances had begun. The author goes into the whys and the personalities and how it happened.
