BINDING/CONDITION: beige binding; the top edge tint is light red; a slight spine slant, otherwise a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket.. 8vo (8.5 inches tall) . Description: When Henrietta was born, her four brothers were disappointed. They had hoped for a fifth brother to complete the basketball team. But her brothers loved and called her Hank, and even as a high school senior, Hank loved the name and all it stood for. Basketball was the breath of her life. Then came a new basketball coach, a brilliant player whose injury stopped her career and left her embittered. As team captain, Hank bore the brunt of the friction between coach and team. How Hank worked through this is part of the story -- the other part is her growing awareness of a certain boy and a new interest in clothing and other things previously scorned as frivolous. Amelia Elizabeth Walden is also the author of various other sports stories for young readers and When Loves Speaks, Valerie Valentine is Missing, and The Bradford Story. The copyright date is 1951; rear gutter code E 47 indicates a printing date of November, 1963
