New York: Chappell & Co, 1918. sheet music. Very Good. Oriignal sheet music, 4 pp, folded. Front cover features World War I-era illustration of a soldier girl aiminga rifle at a heart in a bulklseye held by four soldiers. Very good, back cover (an advertisment for a different song) has some soiling. Wodehouse wrote a mumber of Broadway musicals with Bolton and Jerome Kern during a after the First World War. "The Girl Behind The Gun" was based on a 1910 French play "Madam and Her Godson" and ran for for 160 on Broadway in 1918. It was revised to "Kissing Time" in 1919, running in London for thirteen months.
