Condition of bindings: Lightly age darken, scattered stains; some shelf wear (mostly at backstrips/spine). Interior: Text clear and readable, illustrations vivid. Overall: Very Good condition. Books kept in a temperature-controlled room; there are no smoke smells from cigarettes or cigars. This story was a collaboration between Mark Twain and his neighbor, Charles Dudley Warner, a satire financial and political malfeasance that gave a name to the expensive post-Civil War era. The focus of the story covers the efforts of a poor rural family to become wealthy by selling in a timely manner 75,000 acres of unimproved land acquired by their patriarch, Silas "Si" Hawkins. The plot includes their beautiful adopted daughter Laura. A nice, compact two-volume story by Twain and his collaborator. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will receive when you order. We ship promptly.. Hard Cover. Very Good.
