A Fine copy of the first edition, first printing, with some pushing at the spine ends, INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY H. M. TOMLINSON on the front free endpaper as follows: "To Helen Talland // H. m. Tomlinson." [underscored by a flourish]; a travel book of essays, being the sixth book by this British anti-war writer, journalist, essayist and traveler. Tomlinson's reporting showed the horror of World War I and, in the present work he wrote about things that can provide comfort and consolation, as well as wonder, in the postwar world.
