The First UK printing published by Heinemann in 1973. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just a little spotting and toning to the upper text-block. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just a little toning to the upper flap edges. The Antony Maitland wrapper design looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. B/w illustrations throughout by Antony Maitland. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. A very sharp copy of 'The Carnegie Medal Winner' with most copies ending up in the library system. Scarce with such attributes. Only the second copy we have handled to date. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
