Book Description: Gershom Bulkeley (1635-1713) was a man of astonishing talents. He was a surgeon, scientist, minister, lawyer, doctor, alchemist and political rebel. He was a central figure in all the events in Connecticut during his lifetime. Single-minded in the pursuit of truth and justice, he was alternately honored and hated by his contemporaries. He played an important role in ending the witchcraft trials and he often defended the weak, the vulnerable and the unpopular. A man of letters, he left a vast archive of medical and scientific manuscripts. About the Author: Richard G. Tomlinson retired from a long career as research scientist, consultant and publisher. He pursues his interests in genealogy and history. He is a founder, life member and director emeritus of the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. He created the CSG Literary Awards and the CSG magazine, Connecticut Genealogy News. In 2018, CSG named the Grand Prize in the Literary Award Contest, "The Richard G. Tomlinson Prize". He is a life member and former director of the Connecticut Historical Society. He is a director of the Kendall County Texas Genealogical Society. His publications include Witchcraft Trials of Connecticut, Tele-Revolution: Telephone Competition at the Speed of Light, and Witchcraft Prosecution: Chasing the Devil in Connecticut.
