London: John Lane, The Bodley Head, 1915. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good. Boards shelf-rubbed with blind-stamped titling to upper board, gilt to spine. The corners are rubbed and the spine ends scuffed and tatty. There is splitting to both spine edges from the top and from the bottom. Both joints are tender and the binding is loose but holding. Prev owner's signature to front pastedown and a rubber stamps to ffep. A couple of the prelim pages are starting to detach from the bottom. Isolated instances of brown staining to the text. 402pp + catalogue. Pages rough-cut. All four maps present and undamaged. Numerous b/w plates. Fair to good.
