Spine faded with very slight wear to ends. A little light marking to boards. Page edges untrimmed. Very clean text throughout. Inked note to p30 regarding the poem 'Remembrance and expectations' being authored by Hopkins' sister (This is a reference to the second edition of Hopkins' works, issued later in the same year, where editor Charles Williams noted the incorrect attribution.) Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown endpaper (New Zealand author Dan Davin). The first biography of Gerard Manley Hopkins. Includes the first printing 'Nondum' and 'Easter' plus extracts from several other previously unpublished early poems. Scarce. Dunne G41. Overall condition is Very Good.
