About This Item
Arena Editions, Santa Fe NM, 1998. Book. Fine Condition. Cloth. Black cloth binding with bright red stamping of title on cover and spine. Binding is tight and in fine condition. Pictorial printed paper dustjacket in very good condition, with a small closed tear and minor bumps consistent with shelfwear, now cleanly protected in Mylar. 113 pages with 71 beautifully printed photographs by the artist, most printed full page in black and white. Malanga intimately documents the fascinating world of New York culture in the 1970s--a world that he had a great hand in shaping as a part of the world that revolved around the artist Andy Warhol. The subjects of his photographs are clearly his friends, and their personalities shine through the decades: Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Cecil Beaton, Candy Darling, Joe Dallesandro, Billy Name, William Burroughs, Dennis Hopper, Alice Cooper, John Chamberlain, Ken Kesey, Robert Mapplethorpe, Patti Smith, John Cage, Joe Brainard, Tennessee Williams, and dozens of others..
