New York: Random House, (1939).. (1939).. Good. - Octavo, tan cloth titled in gilt within gilt-framed black rectangles on the front cover & spine. The head of the spine is slightly darkened & chipped & the titling on the spine is a bit faded. The dust jacket is lightly rubbed with its rear panel darkened & lightly soiled & the head of its spine chipped. The edges of the dust jacket flaps are darkened. [x] & 212 pages. Illustrated with 2 black-and-white plates, including a frontispiece. The page edges are slightly darkened. The front edges of 2 rear leaves are chipped and there is a tear along the front edge of 1 rear blank. Good. <p>First edition.<p> This play in three acts was Shaw's second book. The play opened at the Belasco Theatre on January 5, 1939, produced by the Group Theatre and directed by Harold Clurman.
