New York: House of Field, Inc.. Very Good+ in Very Good dj. 1941. Unstated ed. Hardcover. [good solid copy, minimal wear, top edge dust-darkened, a few spots on front pastedown and ffep, small bookstore stamp on front pastedown; jacket a bit edgeworn, a few small insect holes at rear flap foldover, minor chipping at top of spine]. "Reading [this book] is much like spending a vacation at an old Kentucky manor house. You cannot fail to respond to the warmth of Southern hospitality, and you will be sure to make many interesting and lasting friends. Your host, General Shelby, and the general's boss, a sixteen-year-old girl who recented inherited the estate of Cedarstone, will entertain you lavishly. It will be the most enjoyable and exciting vacation you ever spent--replete with outdoor sports, historical excursions, romance, secret passages, exciting adventures and all the other elements that go to make life more worthwhile. " [The copyright page states that "this book is the screen version of ' Cedarstone' [1937] by the same author." Not quite sure what that means, as there appears to be no record of a movie version under either title, nor is the book written in scenario or treatment form.] .
