London: Kearsley, Wilkie and Robinson, 1812. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Mrs. Griffith. Octavo. 557 pages. EX-LIBRARY copy with full markings, including a Sondley Collection (Asheville, NC) bookplate on the front pastedown. Hardcover quarter bound in leather with marbled paper covered boards. Binding is heavily rubbed. Headcap has a .75 inch wide and .5 inch tall chip missing. Five raised spine bands. Gilt decorations on spine. White lettering at foot of spine. Edges of text block are marbled. Marbled endpapers. Sondley Reference Library bookplate on front pastedown. Writing on reverse of front flyleaf. A number stamped on the reverse of the title page. There is a Sondley Library blind stamp on some pages. Text is toned, has some foxing. Illustrations throughout. A 1932 notation on the verso of the front flyleaf notes that this volume has 39 plates. Another notation beneath this states that a prior owner paid $150 for this book in 1989. F. A. Sondley was a book collector in Asheville, NC who donated his extensive antiquarian collection to the Asheville Library.
