Period calf, gilt-ruled spine, red morocco spine label lettered in gilt. 8vo; 21.5 cm; 8.25 inches tall; xv, [1], 415, [errata] pp. Rubbing to extremities, joints cracked and reinforced with Japanese tissue; Textblock tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Previous owner's name atop the title page in period cursive. First Edition.

Ref: ESTC N2611. The Author, political writer and cartographer was Master of the Academy established at Edinburgh by the honorable the Board of Trustees for the improvement of Arts in Scotland. lived for a time in Switzerland before returning home to Scotland.
