Publisher's blue cloth (a variant, as this title is usually bound in red cloth), with gilt titles to spine and top edge red. With the dust-jacket designed by Michael Harvey, priced at 30s. Black ink ownership to fly-leaf, with toning and spotting to edges. Some light spotting to endpapers and preliminaries. Cloth worn to extremities. Jacket heavily sunned and toned to spine, with large losses to base of spine and rear panel. Moderate general wear and toning to jacket overall. Good. The first in a series of military comedies chronicling adventures of the hapless Private McAuslan, who demonstrates his unfitness for service in a Highland Regiment during the Second World War. By the author of The Flashman Papers.
