Published by the Bristol and Somerset Steam-press, Taunton, 1873, 1st edition. Three titles bound as one volume. Rebound (fairly recently) in half leather binding with plain green cloth boards. Five raised bands to spine. Gilt lettering on red leather patch to second compartment, gilt decoration to other compartments. Similar decorative device to centre of front and rear boards. Elaborate gilt borders to edges of cloth, mirrored by similar borders blindstamped to the leather. Page edges marbled. 11ins x 9ins, new endpapers, [vi], 134pp, 122pp, 94pp plus frontis map and 19pp of photographic illustrations. Most of these photographic pages contain 8, 9 or more images to the page. The text is set in two columns within a double ruled border. Offsetting to the text from the illustrations in a couple of places. Scattered foxing to the text - mostly light, but heavier in two or three places in the second half of the book. A G+ nr VG copy of a scarce title in a very attractive binding.
