About This Item

Racine, Wisconsin: Whitman Publishing Company, 1950. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. Bensen, Andrew. Another in Whitman's series of collectible books for children, most based on popular 1950s-1960s television, movies, & culture! This is one of the earlier series that were issued with DJs, which IS present here, in full color! Whitman #2349, this is a FIRST EDITION (printing unknown) from 1950, in250 pages + ads for other Whitman books in rear, with decorative endpapers16 internal illustrations by artist Andrew Bensen. Hardcover book with tan decorative cloth over boards is in VG condition: very clean, with the occasional spot or stain, very light stain to fore edge bleeding into some pages. Binding is strong & straight, hinges intact. Former owner's name & address dated 1951 inside front cover; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; NOT ex-lib. All pages show moderate-heavy tanning, especially around edges, in line with age & paper quality. The unclipped DJ is only Fair: lovely western images are bright & colorful, but a large swath of the rear cover is missing & there is old clear tape along the entire bottom edges.
