Wolcott, Burton. Wolcott, Burton. GASPE'S CHILDREN. Original photograph, not dated. 13 3/4 x 16 1/2 inches, flush mounted except for a 1/2 inch margin at the bottom bearing the title and signed in pencil. Inscribed "May L. Wolcott/319 W. 18th St/New York, NY," on the mount, verso. In excellent condition. Burton and May Wolcott were very accomplished amateur photographers who lived in New York City and Vermont. They were members of The Camera Club, New York (Stieglitz had once been a member) and of the Southern Vermont Art Center, and regularly participated in exhibitions of both organizations. Subjects are mostly New York City urban scenes and New England landscape.
