Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-four plates, of which are folding. Collated complete. One of the author's lesser known works, this diary of gardening throughout the year provides a thorough explanation of tending to a garden across the year, with a chapter for each month. With insight into planting and harvesting. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. Publisher's catalogue to the rear dated September 1904 as per the first state, cited from "A Bibliography of the Works of Sir Henry Rider Haggard 1856-1925" by J. E. Scott. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the extremities and fading to the spine. Minor fading to the board edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown. Very Good Indeed
