Edinburgh: Archibald Constable and Co, 1822. Hardcover. Very Good -. Imprint includes: London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown; and Hurst, Robinson, and Co. Fourth edition. [3], vi-xx, 646 p.; 21 cm. Dark green library buckram with gilt-stamped spine title. Inscriptions on the front fixed endpaper indicate that William Macrae, gardener at Restalrig House in Edinburgh, acquired the book in Nov. 1834, and by 1849 the book was owned by James McRae, of the Edgehill Nursery, Dean (now part of Edinburgh). Contents: Culinary Garden -- Fruit Garden -- The Forcing Garden -- The Pleasure Garden -- The Green-House and Conservatory. One pencilled notation and a few botanical specimens. In Very Good- Condition: cover is slightly rubbed and soiled; faint dampstain on first few leaves; some sections are browned; occasional foxing, heavy on some pages; otherwise, clean and tight.
