About This Item

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1927. Photoplay edition issued to coincide with the release of the silent film ‘The Garden of Allah,’ directed by Rex Ingram, starring Alice Terry, Ivan Petrovich, Marcel Vibert, and H.H. Wright. A tale of adventure and romance in the Sahara Desert. Very good copy with some minor fading to the cloth at the spine and with a faint trace of edge wear in a very good lightly dust soiled dust jacket with some tiny chips and tears and internal tape reinforcements. On the printed half-title, the Grosset & Dunlap staff has written information about the date of publication, the name of the printing company they used, and how many copies were printed. The publisher’s own copy stamped on the the top edge of the book and the spine of the dust jacket: “OFFICE FILE COPY.” The front panel is a color painting of a woman shielding herself from a desert sand storm with an inset of the cast in a desert oasis setting.
