It includes the author's name Robin Hobb listed in error as the copyright holder, and the planned publication date of 1995. A game of thrones is the first volume of Martin's epic multi-volume saga A song of ice and fire. In 2019 the BBC includedA game of thrones in it's list of 100 Novels That Shaped Our World. The book spawned a highly successful television series which ran from 2011 to 2019.
