After this work he moved his attention to writing for a younger audience, with his first children's book, Count Karlstein, published in 1982. Pullman began writing his famed His Dark Materials series in 1993. Octavo. Original dark green boards, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Negligible rubbing to board edges, a near-fine copy, in the very good jacket, unclipped, spine faded to yellow.
