Auckland, New Zealand: Mt Saint John Press, 1993. Limited Edition of No. 123 of 150 Signed by Author to half title. Memoriers of his travels through the Museums and Galleries of Europe with his winnings of the Keith Holyoak award 1971. Venables served in the Medical Corps of the New Zealand Army in the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia in WWII. During this time he produced many watercolours of soldiers, aircraft, landing craft and the paraphernalia of war. He exhibited in the 1952 Exhibition of Official War Paintings by New Zealand Artists. CONDITION End pages and cover are illustrated by linocuts. pp 189 with 49 hand printed illus including some colout illus and coloured lino cuts. Nice crisp copy with hand printed Navy Leatherette bds, small nick to head of front eps near spine, DJ hand printed in archival cover. . Signed by Author. Numbered Signed. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
