About This Item
SCM, 1965. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 5.5" X 8.5. P/B 172 pages, condition is very good, minor edge wear. This is one of the most thorough reports ever made to the British Council of Churches. The demand for international sanctions to stop apartheid is given a moral, legal, economic and military survey. Controversial, costly suggestions are worked out for reducing Britain's encouragement of apartheid, and special attention is given to the critical issue of South-West Africa. But the study's main concern is with South Africa's own long-term prospects. There is still some hope of an alternative to the disaster of a race-war, and Christians, inside and outside the Republic, have great opportunities in the time that remains. This report was edited by T. A. Beetham, Africa Secretary of the Conference of British Missionary Societies, and Noel Salter, Executive Secretary of the International Department of the British Council of Churches.
