Boston: William White and Company, 1870. Second Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 403 pp. Blind stamped brown cloth, title gilt on spine. With introduction by Judge J. W. Edmonds, who was asked by Gilbert Sweet to vouch for the events described. With appendix. Gilbert Sweet published the book after the death of his wife, Elizabeth who began her career as a medium in the home of Leah Fox Fish, oldest of the Fox sisters, which put Mrs. Sweet at the epicenter of spiritualism at the height of its popularity. A Very Good, very attractive, bright copy; a small nick at the top of front joint. Paste-downs and endpapers lightly foxed. Photos happily provided on request.
