Fine. 12mo. 17.5x 12.5cm, 192 & (-146)-176pp., title-page vignette, 8 engraved sepia plates, numerous full page & text engraved illustrations, in the original elaborately gilt decorated brown cloth (including five travel vignette illus.), repeated in blind on the bottom board, similarly gilt decorated spine, gilt block titles on the spine and upper cover, all edges gilt, early owner's inscription (1860) on front free endpaper, expertly restored, a fine bright clean copy, rare. (cgc) A sequel to Pardon's "The Little Traveller." Intended for children, the author relates travels in the Baltic & up the Rhine, climbing Mont Blanc, and trips to Egypt, China & Persia. Very attractively bound with floral decoration and travel vignettes. The sepia plates are by W. Dickes. Bound in at the end with Louisa May Alcott's "Little Annie's Dream" from her "Floral Fables". Osborne 2:810.
