An advance reading copy of this omnibus of Winston Churchill's early war books, the first edition in the unclipped dust wrapper. The first omnibus edition of this work, comprising four of Winston Churchill's early war books. Covering the life of the man as a soldier and war correspondent, including edited editions of The Malakand Field Force; The River War; 'London to Ladysmith' and 'Ian Hamilton's March.' An advance reading copy for review, with the publisher's slip loosely inserted announcing the publication of this volume in November 1962. Complete in its unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with maps and plans. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, minor marking to the boards and only a hint of fading to the spine. The dust wrapper is unclipped and generally smart with minor shelf wear and chipping to the head and tail of the spine, a minor closed tear to front wrap. With the publisher's advance reading copy slip loosely inserted. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor mark to the fore edge, otherwise the pages are bright and clean throughout, only the marginal minor pencil underlining to the occasional leaf. Illustrated with maps and plans. Very Good Indeed
