Bound in stamped full leather with gilt text on front, back, and spine, all three exterior page edges also gilt. The book is in its original state with the leather untreated. There is scuffing and wear to the leather, and the front exterior hinge is starting to crack. The interior binding has some minor issues. There is a 1 inch opening at the bottom of the rear board and the front hinge is showing signs of thin cracks starting. Binding of the text pages appear is good though the last text page is separated at the bottom hinge about 3 inches. Pages are toned due to age and there is some light foxing, particularly around the illustrations. The first few pages of the book shows a dampstain along the edges. This issue disappears but the time it gets to the title page. Dark brown end pages in front and rear are free of any bookplates or library markings. There is some gray spotting along the edges of both end pages and pastedowns. The only handwriting found in the book is on the back of the first end page where "200" is written in blue pencil with a line above it. Please note: this is a large and heavy book.
