Publisher's full purple cloth, gilt lettering on spine, blind-stamped decoration on spine and cover. Reverend Nehemiah Adams (1806 1878) was an American clergyman and writer. He graduated from Harvard University in 1826, and from Andover Theological Seminary in 1829. That same year, he was ordained as co-pastor, with Abiel Holmes, of the First Congregational Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1834, he became pastor of Union Congregational Church (Essex Street Church) in Boston. He would remain in that position until his death in 1878.. Spine moderately sunned, covers sunned and faded, corners bumped, former owner's signature on ffep and title page, otherwise unmarked, tight, and square, hinges strong. VERY GOOD. . 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 295 pp .
