French is a passionate dialect of the Indo-European family. It derived from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire, as did all the Romance dialects. French has advanced from Gallo-Romance, the articulated Latin in Gaul, and most of all in Northern Gaul.

French is an official language in 29 nations, usually the members of la francophonie, the society of French-speaking nations. It is expressed as a first linguistic in downward list of the top number in France, the Canadian provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick, the region of Wallonia in Belgium, western Switzerland, Monaco, particularly other regions of Canada and the United States of America, and by different societies in some parts of the world.

French is the 4th of the highest generally enunciated language in the European Union. Of Europeans who are fluent in other dialects inherently, around one-fifth are proficient to converse in French as a second dialect.

French has a wide history as a global dialect of literature, and systematic in many measures and is a second dialect of a number of international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union, NATO, the WTO, the International Olympic Committee, and the ICRC. Recently, Bloomberg Businessweek rated French as the third most helpful linguistic for trade and industry, next to English and Standard Mandarin Chinese.
