Chapman And Hall, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. Centenary Edition. 289 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt titles to spine. Volume I. With illustrated frontispiece. Pages have deckled edges. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Pencil inscriptions to front pastedown. Foxing more noticeable towards the start and end of the book. A few edge tears and creases, as expected with deckled paper. Slight gutter cracking. Boards have some edge wear, with moderate bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are slightly crushed and frayed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Slight water stains to rear. Book has a pronounced forward lean. Gilt is bright.
