About This Item
New York, NY Harry N. Abrams, Inc., 1985. Hardcover First Edition USA [1985], unstated, in accordance with Abram's customary practice. First Edition USA [1985], unstated, in accordance with Abram's customary practice. Very Good+ in Near Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. The book shows a faint coffee stain at the upper fore-edge and at the outside edge of the front free endpaper; shows also the slightest spine lean, though the binding remains perfectly secure; else flawless; the text is clean. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome, nearly-new copy, showing a couple of minor flaws. Not quite absolutely pristine, but remains close to it. The DJ shows only the milest rubbing; unclipped; mylar-protected. Overall, very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Folio. (12.55 x 10.6 x 0.9 inches). 157 pages. Photography by Daniel Phililppe. Language: English. Weight: 3 pounds, 9 ounces. From the Air Photography Series. First Edition USA [1985], unstated. Hardback with DJ. The diversities of the French countryside and the stunning geometry of its achitecture are revealed here in the aerial photography of Daniel Philippe. The eleven chapters are introduced with works from the greatest French writers from Flaubert to Colette, and are devoted to regions of France famous for their landscape and architecture, ranging from Normandy, the Loire Valley and Brittany, to the Mediterranean, Corsica and the Alps. They are accompanied by over 150 aerial photographs, and detailed maps showing the situation of the various sites. The numerous stories and historical information presented by Claire Julliard, an expert on French history, provide an background to the unusual visions portrayed.
