Washington, D.C., 1911. framed. 1 page on White House letterhead, 7 x 6.5 inches, Washington, D.C., March 25, 1911. In this letter, Taft expresses thanks for a gift, in full: "My dear Mr. Shepard: I have your letter of March 22nd, and thank you in behalf of Mrs. Taft and myself for the oranges which you were thoughtful enough to have sent us. We shall much enjoy them. With warm regards to Mrs. Shepard, believe me, Sincerely yours..." One horizontal fold; signature slightly faded. Beautifully double-matted in gold and gray beside a bust-portrait photo of Taft. Set in gold wooden frame measuring 13.25 x 18.75 inches. Very good condition.<br/> <br/>
