An illutrated history of movie theater lobby cards from the earliest, simplistic early silent era cards though the eye-catching, lavish and imaginative cards of the 1930s and 40s. Featured are stars such as Douglas Fairmanks, Mary Pickford, Valentino, Lon Chaney, Sr., and Gloria Swanson, Clara Bow, Jean Harlow, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard and Dietrich, through the years of Ginger Rogers, Errol Flynn, and Bogie. Some of the rare cards reproduced are for films like Ben Hur, Don Juan, the famed lost Lon Chaney film London After Midnight, The Canary Murder Case with Louise Brooks as the "canary", Frankenstein, Werewolves of London, Tarzan, I'm No Angel, Disney's Snow White, Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon.
