New York: R.T. Young, 1853 2nd edition. 371,(1), 10 pages of publishers catalogue. Octavo. Original publishers blind and gilt stamped red cloth. Gilt lettering and decorations stamped to the spine. Spine a bit soiled and gilt has oxidized. Light yellow coated endpapers. Illustrated with black and white engraved plates including a frontispiece. The appendix is present. Professional repairs to the top and bottom of the spine. Some light wear to the cloth, especially along the edges of the boards where some fraying has begun. Previous owner's notation on the front pastedown. Some light spots of soiling throughout and an old tide line on the last few pages of the text block. An overall good to very good copy. SABIN 14907.
