Plays in verse by American plyawright Maxwell Anderson, 1888-1958 Includes the Plays: Elizabeth the Queen (1930; Mary of Scotland (1933); Winterset (1935); and High Tor (1936). The first three of these were made into movies. His plays are often about social and moral problems, like "Winterset", which is a fictionalized account of the Sacco & Vanzetti Trials, about a gangster who visits the children of the anarchists who were executed for the murders he himself committed. Others are historical dramas. Clean worn wraps, glued binding tight and solid. Pages are toned, quite clean, no markings of any kind, no creases.
