Twenty four illustrated examples of working folk (and a horse) - known as toilers to include an ostler and a stevedore. A contemporary pencil inscription of an H. J. Davies to the front paste-down which could be rubbed out. Mostly light scattered finger soiling - for the very most part - not heavy. Splitting to both inner hinges though the the boards remain firm and the gatherings are little shaken. No endpapers - probably as published. Rubbing, shelf wear and predominantly dust-soiling to the boards. A very good or very good minus essentially tight largely clean copy of this charming book.
