The matching box is quite solid and displays some sunning and shelf wear. Publisher issued matching cover label still clean and bright on both the folio cover and matching box. If you'd like, we can ship it in the publisher's original shipping box as well.
Includes a 3 page preface by Lloyd Goodrich, who at the time of this folio's publication was the Director of the Whitney Museum of Art.
Regarding the history of this folio:
"In 1962 the editors of Art in America proposed to Wyeth a portfolio of reproductions of his recent dry-bush drawings. The artist and his wife suggested the theme, "The Four Seasons," because of the essential role played in his work by the cycle of the seasons. The drawings were selected by Andrew and Betsy Wyeth from works in the house and studio at Chadds Ford, supplemented by some owned by friends. With a few exceptions they had never been exhibited or reproduced. The plates were made directly from the originals."
Plates included are: The Berry Picker, Brinto's Mill, Canvasbacks, Burning Off, The Corner, Early October, May Day, Spring Sun, Quaker Ladies, Storing Up, New Leaves and Teel's Island.
