Cloth, 8vo, 26 cm,. vii, 183 pp. From the blurb: "An important exhibition was mounted in the University Library from April to June 1984, to mark four hundred years of continuous printing and publishing by Cambridge University Press, and this catalogue gives a permanent record for historians and bibliographers. Mr McKitterick has written an introductory note on the catalogue as a whole and his very full and interesting entries on the exhibits give detailed bibliographical and historical information. The Press's first charter, early official letters and historical documents and some early equipment are catalogued and reproduced, as well as a selection of Cambridge Press books from 1584 onwards. The catalogue can be read as an illustrated history of the Press, told through key documents and publications, and will be valued as one of the permanent records of the quatercentenary year.
