Four first edition novels by Howard Spring following the lives of a series of interesting and compelling characters, in the original dust wrappers. The first edition. Four Volumes. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers to all but 'Winds of the Day' which is clipped.This set features four works by Howard Spring, a Welsh author and journalist. This set includes; 'The Houses in Between', a novel following Sarah Undridge, who recounts her one hundred years of life. 'All the Day Long' which tells the story of Maria, a daughter of a vicar and her sisters and gifted brother. 'I Met A Lady' a novel recounting the life of George Ledra, who is sent to Cornwall for his health and to study under a retired professor of Greek. 'Winds of the Day', a story following Alice Openshaw, a servant girl who is who is left without parents at the end of Queen Victoria's reign. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers to all but 'Winds of the Day' which is clipped. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear, and a slight lean to 'Winds of the Day' and minor fading to the text to the spine to 'I Met A Lady'. Light offsetting to the endpapers to 'All the Day Long' and 'Winds of the Day'. The wraps are excellent to 'All the Day Long' and 'I Met A Lady' with minor edge wear, minor marks to the rear, and sunning to the spine to 'I Met A Lady'. Very smart to the rest with rubbing, predominantly to the spine, to 'Winds of the Day', spotting to the rear to 'The Houses in Between' and very small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine to 'The Houses in Between'. Internally firmly bound with clean and generally bright pages. Near Fine
