The plates have examples of the typography of 15th century Italy; 16th century Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany and the Low Countries; 17th century France; 18th century France, Spain, Italy, England; 19th-20th century France, Switzerland, England, USA, Germany and Holland. There is also an index of printers and craftsmen.
