Dublin: William Curry, Jun. & Co., 1826. 12mo, pp. [iv], xvii, [iii], 162, [4]. Later green calf, spine divided by gilt rules, 2nd and 4th compartments lettered direct in gilt, other compartments tooled in gilt. A touch of spotting. A little scratched and rubbed. Some pencil underlining to first few pages. A scarce Dublin printing, with lengthy subscribers’ list, of the Conte de Ségur’s philosophical work first published in French in 1820. Library Hub locates 4 copies, BL, Cambridge, Southampton and Trinity College, with Worldcat adding NLI and Pennsylvania.

About McNaughtan's Bookshop
Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland. Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association. We stock rare, antiquarian, and collectable books on all subjects, along with a substantial range of secondhand books for browsing. Our gallery space currently hosts Typewronger Books, offering new books and secondhand typewriters.
