About This Item

Boston: American Unitarian Association, 1903. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. First edition. 12mo. 44pp. Half cloth and papercovered boards. Ownership signature of W. Atlee Burpee dated in 1904 on front fly, slight sunning on spine, and a few pencil marginal marks, presumably by Burpee, near fine in very good printed dustwrapper lacking the bottom 1.75" of the thin spine, and with some faint penciled words on the front panel. After a successful career as a breeder of poultry, Burpee founded the Burpee Seed Company in 1876. Although no longer under family control, the company still exists today. Very scarce in jacket.
