Philby's forty years in Arab society, surrounded by a culture that allows him to describe life in the Arabian desert with remarkable insights. What happened as enormous wealth from the West flowed into the hands of its leaders led to corruption. The National Geographic President said that Philby was the greatest Arabian traveler of his generation. Bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt, corners bumped, no names or bookplates. A very nice copy.
