I've been dealing in rare books for over 30 years and this is one of the most impressive and wonderful illustrated book I have ever seen. It sells for a lot more money on the rare book sites.

It is often called "One of the most marvelous and imaginative editions of these fables" this is illustrated by FELIX LORIOUX in bold, full color and in line with his wonderful humanized insects and animals and with a few lines of text for each illustration. Full of humor and style and beautifully printed. Containing: The Town Rat & The Country Rat, The Grasshopper & The Ant, The Wolf & The Lamb, The Crow & The Fox, The Fox & The Stork and The Heron

Wonderfully illustrated, 2 full color story pages then 2 story pages with B&W illustrations, and again 2 full color pages with story, continues this way throughout book. Animals and Characters all dressed in wonderful clothes
no dust jacket, Pages unnumbered.

Inscribed from an aunt for Christmas 1936.
